Case Details
This woman in her sixties developed a large left sided breast cancer. She was initially told that she needed a mastectomy because a lumpectomy would disfigure her breast. She had large breasts and had always wanted to be a bit smaller. During her consultation with Dr. Sisco, she discovered that she could have a lumpectomy as part of an “oncoplastic” breast reduction and reconstruction. She had her lumpectomy, and Dr. Sisco re-arranged the remaining breast tissue to create a more youtful, smaller breast. He performed a similar procedure on the right to make them a closer match. She was very pleased to be able to avoid a mastectomy.
