Breast Reduction in Northbrook, IL

At our Northbrook, Illinois, practice, some of Dr. Sisco’s happiest patients are those who visit him for breast reduction from Highland Park, Glenview, Arlington Heights, the North Shore, and surrounding areas. Making sagging, pendulous breasts perkier and more proportionate can do wonders for a woman’s sense of femininity and confidence. Many of Dr. Sisco’s patients say that they love shopping for cute, delicate bras after surgery—or even having the option of going without a bra for the first time in years.

You Have Options

Breast reduction for our North Shore-area patients is a transformative procedure that has the potential to remedy both physical and emotional discomfort. This surgery typically reduces the size of the breasts while also lifting them, resulting in a more significant change. During your consultation, Dr. Sisco performs a physical evaluation of your breasts and discusses your medical history. Many women seeking breast reduction suffer from physical problems caused by the weight of their breasts, such as chronic back, neck, or shoulder pain. Together, you can also plan the specifics of your surgery.

If you’re satisfied with the size of your breasts but would like to change their shape or position, a breast lift may be more appropriate.

Some patients choose to combine their breast reduction with axillary breast tissue excision—a procedure that removes underarm bulges for more streamlined contours.

How Much Does Breast Reduction Surgery Cost?

During your consultation, we provide you with a document that details the estimated cost of your breast reduction surgery. We encourage you to take it home, look it over, consider your options and make an informed decision.

Surgery Day & Long-Term Results

Dr. Sisco typically performs breast reduction surgery as an outpatient procedure. Once you are completely anesthetized, he makes an incision—usually anchor-shaped—around your areola, down the lower portion of the breast, and horizontally along the breast crease. Dr. Sisco then removes an amount of breast tissue—determined by the metrics you discussed during your consultation—and tightens the breast skin. He lifts and reshapes the remaining breast tissue and may also reduce the size of the areolas to ensure they’re proportionate in relation to the breasts.

Although you can return home after your procedure, you’ll need to wear a special support garment during the first week or so. Most patients return to sedentary workplaces after about 1 week, with more time needed before resuming vigorous exercise.

In the long term, the results of your breast reduction surgery have the potential to be permanent, providing lifelong comfort and confidence.

I was diagnosed with chondrosarcoma in my mandubrium in Jan. 2017. My thoracic surgeon referred me to Dr. Sisco for the reconstructive part of my 12 hour surgery. From my first consult to follow up, Dr. Sisco and his staff have been the most professional, compassionate and dedicated individuals I've had the pleasure of working with when it comes to healthcare. I've worked in healthcare, and I know it can be a thankless job and it can wear you down. Dr. Sisco and his staff were always positive, pleasant and so upbeat about my recovery. I spent 8 days in the hospital, and I can say at least twice a day, either Dr. Sisco or one of his staff would stop in my room to check in on me and my progress. Anyone who has been diagnosed with cancer or has fought the battle alongside a loved one, knows how devastating it is to hear that diagnosis for the first time. And then to have to go through consultation after consultation with a team of doctors is overwhelming, especially when you feel like you can't catch your breath. Dr. Sisco and staff made my diagnosis less scary. He explained step by step what he was going to do. He did not rush through the explanation. He gave me time to digest what was said and answered every question with patience and compassion. I also appreciate that Dr. Sisco has allowed me to decide when I would like to follow up with after care. I will need some minor surgery to fine tune the area in which bone, tissue and skin were replaced on my chest. He understood that I was not up for any surgery so soon after major surgery. I appreciate that I was not pressured to schedule that right away, and that I was given the choice of the timetable in which to return; when I felt comfortable. I can not thank Dr. Sisco and staff enough for the peace of mind they have given me throughout this diagnosis and treatment. I highly recommend Dr. Sisco and his staff! -A. Hauer
Dr. Sisco is talented and a credit to his profession. He is personable...has an amazing bed-side manner. Dr. Sisco is professional, courteous and most important : HE IS AN ARTIST! I needed breast reduction due to breast cancer. I am a 57 year old woman, but my breasts belie my age. I have pert, youthful breasts. I didn't ask for breast cancer, but, I must say, it was "almost worth it ". Love my newly, reduced breasts! I highly recommend Dr. Sisco and I am not easily impressed!
Almost 1 year ago, I had a double mastectomy with immediate breast reconstruction. Before I was ready to do this I talk with few surgeon and plastic surgeon doctors until I had the appointment with Dr Mark Sisco. After our conversation, I feel that he cares about me as a person. The consultation appointment was longer than it was originally scheduled and Dr Sisco answered to all my questions without any rush. He and his team are extremely professional and supportive. He did exceptional work during each of 3 procedures, big and small. I’m so lucky to have him as my doctor. I highly recommending him to anyone.
