Surgery Day & Long-Term Results

Dr. Sisco typically performs breast reduction surgery as an outpatient procedure. Once you are completely anesthetized, he makes an incision—usually anchor-shaped—around your areola, down the lower portion of the breast, and horizontally along the breast crease. Dr. Sisco then removes an amount of breast tissue—determined by the metrics you discussed during your consultation—and tightens the breast skin. He lifts and reshapes the remaining breast tissue and may also reduce the size of the areolas to ensure they’re proportionate in relation to the breasts.

Although you can return home after your procedure, you’ll need to wear a special support garment during the first week or so. Most patients return to sedentary workplaces after about 1 week, with more time needed before resuming vigorous exercise.

In the long term, the results of your breast reduction surgery have the potential to be permanent, providing lifelong comfort and confidence.

I was diagnosed with chondrosarcoma in my mandubrium in Jan. 2017. My thoracic surgeon referred me to Dr. Sisco for the reconstructive part of my 12 hour surgery. From my first consult to follow up, Dr. Sisco and his staff have been the most professional, compassionate and dedicated individuals I've had the pleasure of working with when it comes to healthcare. I've worked in healthcare, and I know it can be a thankless job and it can wear you down. Dr. Sisco and his staff were always positive, pleasant and so upbeat about my recovery.
