Patient Resources

At NorthShore Plastic Surgery, we’re proud to offer Arlington Heights, Highland Park, Glenview, Northbrook, and other Illinois residents the best in plastic surgery. We want to make sure you’re fully prepared for every phase of your experience with Dr. Mark Sisco or our aesthetic staff. Here, learn about the process you can expect when you choose us for your surgery.

Book Your Visit

Ready to get started? So are we! Use our online form to request your consultation, or call our office at (847) 504-2333 to speak to a member of our staff. When you call, we’ll ask you some basic questions, including your contact information, your availability, and the procedures you’re considering.

Visualize Your Result

It’s important to have a realistic sense of what’s possible and what’s not before any aesthetic procedure. Although you’ll leave your consultation with a solid idea of the results you can expect, it’s a good idea to think about the final look you want, too. Whether you’re undergoing a breast augmentation, tummy tuck, or something in between, Dr. Sisco encourages you to bring in photos that depict features you like — and to articulate the qualities you don’t. Having as much information as possible helps him create the results you want.

Streamlining Paperwork

Once you book your consultation, we may send you an email with a secure link to our intake forms. Instead of filling out these forms in our office, you can complete them at home on your own schedule. If you need help or have any questions, we’re just a phone call away.

When you visit us for the first time, be sure to bring along a photo I.D. and your medical insurance card.

Planning the Conversation

Your consultation is a good, unhurried opportunity for you to discuss your surgical goals and ask questions about any stage of the surgical process. In addition to your desired results, you and Dr. Sisco also discuss your medical history and any relevant past or present conditions. This ensures your safety both during and after surgery. Finally, Dr. Sisco performs a physical examination of the area you wish to treat. If you need to get undressed, you’ll have the opportunity to do so in private.

Financing and Fees

The cost of plastic surgery is a major consideration for most people, and Dr. Sisco and his staff aim to make the process as simple as possible. At the end of your visit, a member of our support staff guides you through the costs associated with your chosen procedure. We also provide you with a written estimate for your surgery. This includes:

We offer several payment options:

Book Your Surgery

When you’re ready to move forward, it’s time to book your surgery. We require a $500 non-refundable deposit that is collected and credited toward your procedure. Full payment of the physician fee is due at least 2 weeks before your scheduled procedure. You can make your payment at the time of your pre-op appointment or over the phone with a credit card. Failure to make your final payment at least 2 weeks prior to your surgery date may result in cancellation of your surgery. Because both the surgical facility and Dr. Sisco’s time have been blocked out for your procedure, we require a notice of 2 weeks to reschedule your surgery without forfeiting 50% of the physician fee.

Please don’t hesitate to call us with your scheduling or payment questions.

Prepare for Surgery

Once your surgery date is confirmed, you’ll need to make an appointment with your primary care physician to be cleared for surgery. Please let us know the name, phone, and fax numbers of your preferred physician and we’ll fax them a request for preoperative testing. You’ll need to undergo the following:

If you don’t have a primary care physician , let us know and we can assist you. Without proper surgical clearance, your surgery is subject to cancellation.

If you’re undergoing aesthetic surgery, you will also need to make a pre-op appointment with Dr. Sisco approximately 2 weeks before your surgery. This is your opportunity to address any questions you may have about the surgery, and to review any aftercare instructions. During this appointment, we will also collect the physician fee (cash, check or credit card), and will have you fill out paperwork for the hospital and anesthesia payments, which are also due prior to your surgery date.

The day before your surgery, you’ll be contacted by Ambulatory Services. At that time, the nurse reviews with you the eating restrictions, location of your surgery, and confirms the time of your surgery. If you’re an outpatient, it’s mandatory that a responsible adult either drive or accompany you home after surgery. You may also wish to arrange for someone to help you the first evening after you arrive home.

Your surgery is very important. We do everything in our power to ensure your experience is as smooth as possible. Please don’t hesitate to contact our office with any questions.

A Reputation Built on Results

Mark Sisco M.D. is rated 5 out of 5.0 based on 112 ratings.

I was referred to Dr. Mark Sisco by a friend who had gone through a similar diagnosis months before me—she was extremely pleased with the provided healthcare and her results. I now have referred Dr. Sisco to others and will continue to do so enthusiastically. He is an exceptional doctor (literally called by nurses as “an artiste”), with a caring, calm demeanor and a wonderful staff to round out the experience. When my world came crashing down, I knew, at least, I didn’t have this to worry about. You are in excellent care with Dr. Mark Sisco, and for those of you reading this, I wish you the very best in your health journey.

I am so grateful to have found Dr. Sisco and to have had him as my plastic surgeon. As a woman with a gene mutation that placed me at a 70% risk of developing breast cancer I decided to pursue a risk reducing double mastectomy with breast reconstruction. Dr. Sisco, besides his incredible skill and knowledge, has a wonderful bedside manner. He treats patients with the utmost respect, kindness and compassion. He is patient and thorough, unbiased and honest. Throughout the process of my surgeries and the entire process of reconstruction he and his staff could not have been better. He and his clinical and front desk staff never make you feel rushed, they respond very quickly to any questions or concerns. He is very honest and makes sure that patients, whether for reconstructive or elective procedures, have realistic expectations. He is truly a gifted surgeon and an artist. I am very happy with my results. Whether you are considering reconstruction or an elective procedure, I can not recommend Dr. Sisco more highly!

Dr. Sisco and his team are compassionate and it’s clear they care deeply about their patients. Not only do they take the time to understand each patient’s personal needs and health background, but they also strive for outstanding results. Making the choice for a prophylactic mastectomy and DIEP reconstruction was made much easier, in part, because of Dr. Sisco and his team of consummate and caring professionals. I’m so grateful and extremely pleased with my results.

Dr. Sisco is an excellent and caring surgeon. He is honest about the results he can deliver and manages expectations well. When I experienced discomfort during recovery, he and his team were responsive to all my concerns. I recommend him to anyone looking for a trustworthy surgeon.

When diagnosed with breast cancer, I met with Dr. Sisco to discuss my options for reconstruction. He made me feel comfortable, informed and seen as a patient. He also performed surgery with my gynecological oncologist on my pelvic region following a tumor de-bulking surgery. He is caring, smart, funny, and most importantly the results from both major surgeries left me feeling better about my body. He has my highest regards not just in surgeon but for his bedside manner. I must also mention the incredible team he works with (Gia, Keya, Sophia, etc,). Everyone is helpful and kind. Many visits to the office were during uncertain times and they go out of their way to make the patients feel comfortable.
